Architectural-scale robotic printer
The Facadeprinter creates large murals by firing paintballs onto walls. The software-controlled robot consists of a two-axis turntable and a pressurized air-based printhead. The printer “shoots” large-scale images onto a surface at a predetermined distance, based on programmed patterns. According to the manufacturer, the Facadeprinter is the world’s first distance printer. A tool for generating large-scale media, the device is akin to a dot matrix printer of architectural dimensions.
