Flexible display glass
Display glass has dramatically become an inseparable part of daily life. From phone screens to kiosks and monitors, glass is now being manipulated on a molecular level to achieve strength and flexibility never before seen. Corning, a US-based company, has successfully made a variety of ultra-performing glass products. Their ultra-thin Willow Glass (0.1mm thick) can be rolled on, provide scratch-resistance, and increase durability to surfaces it is applied to. Material science advancements have created other breeds of glass that are lighter, stronger, and more durable than previously available.
These new glasses are both redefining what material properties of glass are and what can be an interactive surface. New generations of products could allow for touch-interactive walls and paneling—further reimagining our relationship between physical and digital.
