Pollution-reducing cement

TX Active is a photocatalytic cement developed by Italcementi. It decreases the harmful substances present in the air as well as preserves the finished surface of buildings. Incorporating titanium dioxide as its active ingredient, the cement reduces concentrations of airborne pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds.

The TX Active product line consists of two different hydraulic binders: TX Aria and TX Arca. TX Aria is a binder for paints, mortars and leveling compounds, plasters and coatings, as well as concrete. TX Arca is a cement specifically designed for high-profile architectural works, and it complies with European Standard EN 197/1 requirements. Concrete made with TX Arca cement has the same physical and mechanical properties as traditional concrete, with the added self-cleaning properties of TX Active.
