Garden facade with pneumatic outer skin
Experimonde has developed a new kind of membrane curtain wall for domestic retrofits. Integrating the idea for an insulating skin with a garden, the Vienna University of Technology-based team recognized that the buffer zone between the two layers in a double-cushion pneumatic system could be used as a green house.
The Pneu-Green Façade is a inflatable cladding system designed to mitigate thermal transfer while providing a large three-dimensional matrix for a domestic garden. Garden plots are located near windows for easy access, and horizontally-sliding shelf systems allow the garden to extend greater distances from openings.
