Transparency-modulating apparel
Intimacy is a fashion project exploring the intersection of technology and human interaction. The smart fabric detects the biological condition of its wearer and adjusts the transparency of the fabric accordingly. This produces a visual demonstration of how comfortable one is with whomever they are speaking with or, more specifically, the nature of their conversation. The fabric is able to transform from translucent to opaque almost instantly. The result is a fascinating “sensual play of disclosure” that pushes the bounds of human / technology interfaces and how those relationships reflect or alter our human connections.
