Recycled children’s boots

Children grow out of their colored Wellington boots quickly and thousands of pairs end up unsold in charity shops and eventually disappear into landfill sites with other garbage. Smile Plastics has managed to divert these boots from the waste stream and, by a process of heat and up to 1000 tons of pressure, squashes them into 4 mm thick sheets. Soft, rubbery and tactile, the sheets are ideal for table coverings, bar and barstool tops, or even as waterproof mats for bathrooms and kitchens.
