Hand-loomed natural grass fiber textiles

Windochine’s lustrous, organic weaves are hand loomed in Asia by master craftsmen steeped in traditional techniques. Windochine’s signature design is entitled Bamboo Silk, an ultra-thin, sheer open weave bamboo scrim. Elegant, contemporary textiles of fine natural grass fibers complement the bamboo collection. These are blends of abaca or hemp, the banana family, raffia and rattan palm fibers, wild pineapple, jute and silk. Local plant fibers are harvested by hand, split, dried, beaten, or otherwise refined, and then are knotted, spun, and hand woven into striking designs.

All plant materials are derived from renewable resources to support a sustainable environment. Most plants grow solely in the wild, and Windochine fibers are selectively harvested from mature plants to ensure quality, strength and consistency.
