Slinky Stool

The Slinky Stool represents an exploration of the structural properties of knitted fabric. Designers Nicola Lagan and Tom Price developed a three-dimensional polypropylene yarn construction that expands and contracts freely, naturally suggesting the form and use of an adjustable stool with its cylindrical shape and vertical orientation and movement. Lagan’s choice of color accentuates the contours of the fabric, highlighting the structural depth of the surface. An integrated aluminum knob adjusts seat height by activating a hydraulic pump concealed within. The knitted polypropylene yarn is stain-resistant and repels moisture.
