Graphic Concrete
concrete — By Blaine Brownell on March 22, 2009 at 9:27 pmGraphic Concrete offers a new way to produce a patterned concrete surface. Graphic Concrete’s patented technology involves the application of a surface retarder to the exterior of a concrete formliner. This method allows precast-concrete manufacturers to produce high-quality concrete elements, panels, and slabs. The end result is a patterned, smooth, or completely exposed surface. The pattern on the surface comes from from the contrast between the smooth face and the exposed fine aggregate finish in the concrete.
Designers may select patterns from the GCCollection or develop their own designs using GCPro custom design software. The concrete surface can also be even, in which case the options are smooth and velvety (GCSmooth) or a completely exposed fine aggregate finish (GCExpose). Graphic Concrete is suitable for facades, panels, partition walls, and garden slabs.

I am interested to know how the post-formation exterior surface responds to sea-side saline atmspheres, in particular with the presence of residual retarder
My question… Graphic Concrete be utilized for interior space. I am a student graduating this May in interior design. My project is to rehab an an existing Assisted Living Facility. I thought your product would assist all users to find their way out of the building in case of an emergency.
interesting idea Michael. Are you thinking that the use of graphic formliner would have an advantage over arrows and/or lights directing towards exits during emergency situations?
Opinion regarding safety marks… im not an expert but im pretty sure that there are standards that u need to follow when making safety\emergency signs… the idea of design can be interesting but im not sure it will be safety approved.
I was in charge of safety for couple of years in an engineering\chemical company and thought about this tech for same use.
Also, the graphic is not colored but only textured so it will not be easily noticable.
I saw a slightly different way of making what u want.. a graphic imprint on the concrete itself. This way u can make a very distinct colorful markings on the floor. Some manufacturures even do massive proportion graphics that suite big halls and hallways.
