The LED substitute for neon lighting has arrived. After two years of research and development, Mule Lighting has developed a product that looks like traditional neon but is more versatile.
To make LED-Flex, Mule Lighting incorporated light emitting diode (LED) technology into a flexible and durable package that has the appearance and brightness of traditional neon. The uniform and super-bright light output is achieved through a proprietary optical maximization technique which is completely sealed and impervious to shock and vibration.
LED-Flex is suitable for wet locations and can withstand extreme temperatures. The product uses very little energy, requires little maintenance, and is available in a variety of bright colors.

Looking forward to getting my hands on that stuff though – the possibilities are endless.
Check out the benefits of LED Neon Flex here http://www.ledneonflex.com/neon-flex-benefits.html
Over the last year LED Neon Flex has become more efficient, it was 2.44 Watts/Foot down to 1.2 Watts/Foot.
More points I would like to make.
The benefits are too many to list, but I spit out what I can think of:
- Energy Efficient, new LEDNeon-Flex products are rated at 0.58Watts/Foot
- Solid mounting- Nearly indestructible, I drover over it with my car still works great.
- Kids can’t break it with rocks.
- The mount is solid enough it can’t be picked off an exterior application
- Simple Simple Simple installation, may I say it again SIMPLE.
- LEDNeon-Flex uses Red, Green Yellow, Amber Blue and White LED’s… Now here is the kicker, rumor has it LED’s don’t last like the say! Well that’s true, White LED’s have a higher burn rate. All our competitors products are constructed with white LED’s every product every color… hmm, wonder why they fail.. just a tip, red LED’s have the longest life span. Look it up

LED “vs” Neon.
How come they never show photos of LED illumination in an ambient lighting environment? Because it doesn’t have the lumen output that neon does. Also they never mention thermal management which means that unless the LED’s are kept in a cool environment their life is diminished proportionately to the excess amount of heat that they are exposed to in summer months. They NEVER mention that. LED’s have their place and sometimes even in place of neon. I’d just like to see more transparency and a more level playing field when comparing apples to oranges.
