Folding fabric vessel and suspended knitted seat

Designer Nicola Lagan conceived of the Hammock Chair as a means of displaying her Mar(ca) geometric textile research. Her use of specific materials and knit structures resulted in a sculptural fabric with folding, concertinalike properties. The folding property of this fabric is highlighted and exaggerated by use of contrasting colors. Created in collaboration with product designer Tom Price, the chair be either be used to sit and relax in, or be folded into a hemispherical shape for use as a storage vessel.
