Vessels made from repurposed metals

City Servings are bowls made from metal washers and discs reclaimed from former industrial uses. Artist Tammy Roy crafts each bowl by hand, welding collections of the flat metal objects together to form graceful, shallow vessels. In her careful repurposing of common industrial materials bound for disposal, Roy demonstrates that recycling can actually be “upcycling,” and waste can be made into art.

Roy’s Aaben bowl consists of welded metal washers, and the Lukket bowl is made of welded metal discs.
